Pretty stone pub in a conservation village opposite St Mary's church famous for its Norman crypt. The interior comprises a cosy bar with York range lit in winter, a snug, and two dining rooms. Excellent quality food including local game dishes in season. A lovely secluded beer garden is to the rear which now includes a pizza oven. Live music in the garden in summer. This remote pub is popular with locals, walkers and shooting parties.
