Closed in 2012. Pub converted to two houses and a further seven houses built on the site.

Historic Interest

Built about 1850, an Argyle Brewery pub known as the Chequers, transferred to Birkenhead Brewery and renamed the Little Brighton. Described in 1980 as a cheery, old fashioned pub with a long bar and tiny rooms selling Whitbread Special Cask Bitter by handpump. Closed in 2012 and converted to flats. The black & white photos show the pub in 1989.
