This Pub is Permanently Closed
The pub opened in 1961 when it was named the Crossbow. The name was changed to the Lynton Tavern in 1988. It was sold in 2009 for conversion to a Bretheren's Meetng House but remain closed as the new owners were using it as a bargaining tool to get planning permission for their meeting house elsewhere. The closure was met by strong opposition from the local residents who wished to retain their pub. In 2014 it was sold to Central Midlands Estates who on behalf of the Co-op converted it into a local supermarket.
