A thriving and welcoming traditional two-roomed alehouse within walking distance of the town centre. There is a small front room with television and darts board and a larger rear room which includes the restaurant. The beer range may vary. Darts on Mondays, quiz on Wednesdays, live entertainment on most Saturdays and a popular acoustic jam on last Tuesday of every month. Food is locally sourced wherever possible. Level floors throughout but no dedicated accessible toilets. The pub was originally called the Spital Brook and was renamed the Crown in about 1837. In 1998 it reverted to almost the original name.
