Close to the town centre along the busy Wolverhampton Road, the Star and Garter dates back to the 1820's. It was developed into a pub from a doctor's surgery and was the last pub in Stafford to admit women! Refurbished and reopened by the Dorbiere group in 2011. It is now a cheery local with two roaring fires on cold days. Well known in the area for its Thursday Quiz Night. The pub has a pleasant beer garden to relax in on summer evenings. The pub also boasts a range of 20 malt whiskies and 30 premium gins. Marstons Pedigree may be alternated with Doom Bar as the cask beer or there may be an alternative.
