Painted stone and brick double fronted pub with a porched entrance. Parts of the pub appear to be very old and the newly refurbished restaurant at the rear of the bar would have once been in an open yard as there is evidence of the old external walls of two buildings on either side of it. Elsewhere, an old inglenook with further dining area to its left is another attractive feature of this pleasant building. Extensive refurbishment and renovations took place in December 2011 and the pub is a blend of old and contemporary, all done to a very high standard. Outside there is a large car park and covered decking area. Taken over by independent owners from Stonegate in Sept 2023. There is an emphasis on North Indian cuisine. Two cask ales typically available. Food serving times may vary throughout the week so check Facebook.
