Split level pub with many separate areas and rooms. Dining is a large part of this pubs appeal, with high quality food served daily. Re-opened in January 2019 after a two-year period of closure.

Historic Interest

Asset of Community Value registered on the 11th July 2016 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA.

In 1832, the Red Lion was run by John Thornton (White); in 1855, the pub was fully licensed under publican J. Thornton and in 1876 was under William Thornton (Post Office Directories).

The Red Lion is in Newark & Sherwood District Council's Thurgarton Conservation Area.
