The Dolphin is a very friendly local where anybody can feel welcome. Lively conversation takes place at the bar but havens of quiet are also available. The beer garden, also used for smoking, is situated at the read of the pub. Sports are available on the TV. Meetings can be booked in a separate room. There are 2 Robinsons house beers, It is hoped to introduce a wider range soon. It is also a popular pub for dog walkers and people travelling the canal via towpath or water.

There is a jukebox but it is not loud.

The Buxton bus No 58 from Macclesfield runs hourly during the day (M-Sa).
