B2655 Low Sleights Road, Ribblehead, Ingleton, Ribblehead, LA6 3AS (View on Google Map)

Built at the same time as the nearby viaduct (1874). A welcome refuge in a bleak spot in the midst of superb walking country and much used by hikers. Excellent views of the famous viaduct from the beer garden and also from the 'loo with a view'. A rustic look throughout with a cheery range in the "snug". There are bookshelves to pick. Frequented by a surprisingly large number of locals. Good train service - but buses are rare. Bunkhouse next door.

Historic Interest

Doubled as a farmhouse until the 1960s - where the bar counter now stands was the barn.
