Friendly and lively village local serving up to three or four real ales and good value pub meals prepared on the premises.

The main lounge bar is usually lively with conversation and to the side is a separate dining room. Further inside is a snug and also a large comfortable conservatory often used for local meetings, functions and live music/discos as well as darts, opening out onto a large beer garden. There are tables and a shelter at the front. The pub was refurbished and the outside drinking area added in 2022.

On New Year's Day it hosts traditional celebrations of Border Morris and a Mummer's Play that draws a large crowd.
