Victorian character lodge located at the south end of the village, run by only the second owner in 108 years. The separate wooden-floored bar features a large wood-burning stove plus a pool table and jukebox.
With Tradewinds from the local Cairngorm Brewery ever present, together with an ale from Orkney brewery, the third hand pump could be an English or Scottish guest beer. Interesting to note that Tennents lager has been replaced by Cairngorm Gold lager.
Close to the River Spey and Loch Insh, the bar is popular with locals (who always give a welcoming atmosphere to this cosy bar), hill walkers, skiers and cyclists.
Traditional Scottish music features regularly.
The six-bedroom self-catering Suidhe Lodge sleeps up to 15 people and is available for weekly rental.
Lately only open evenings from 5pm, phone ahead to avoid disappointment.
