Having been closed since 2021, the pub reopened in June 2026 under new independent ownership. The internal revamp has produced a single room bar in a minimalist style. Outside to the rear there is a large beer garden. There are 2 handpumps, one serving Fuller's London Pride, the other a beer from a local brewery.
On a historical note the pub dates from the 1850s and is named after the battle of the same name in the Crimean war of the same era, one of only 3 in the country so named. Reputedly there is a friendly resident ghost,
