Blue Keys Hotel, Southampton (Southampton House Hotel)

This was our description when the Blue Keys was running as a proper hotel with bar & restaurant open to the public, last reviewed April 2018:

The Blue Keys is a 10 bedroomed hotel in the quiet Northlands Road area of Southampton, but its bar and restaurant are open to all. The bar is a plush affair with comfortable seating, a bar with three handpumps (just one in use though) and a mini grand piano in the corner. Steps lead down to the restaurant, which has about half a dozen tables, and to the garden which has several tables on paved & shingle areas and catches the afternoon sun. Food is served daily. Restaurant service can be at your table in the bar, garden or restaurant as you wish. The bar is licensed until midnight but will close earlier if it is very quiet.

A point to note is that the hotel does get bookings for weddings, christenings & other private parties so occasionally the bar & restaurant will be closed to the public, most likely on Summer Fridays & Saturdays.
