Victorian street corner pub that reopened in July 2016 as an 'Anglo-Polish' pub with a bit of a café feel. Run by a family of Polish heritage who have refurbished the pub stylishly with pastel shade colours, wood strip flooring in the old 'lounge' area and shutterboard flooring in the 'public' - which works very well and is a talking point. A nice homely feel, spacious & not over cluttered with furniture. A courtyard to the rear provides an outdoor area away from the traffic. The pub retains some of the original cut glass & etched windows - unusual & now irreplaceable. The good value food has a few Polish specialities on it. When first opened it had no cask ale but otherwise it had much to commend it; since then, first one, then a second cask ale has been introduced.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (Another Greene King beer, often a special) and 1 regular beer.
