This Club is Closed Long Term

This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

Pedants should be aware that the spelling of the name of the American anatomist Caspar Wistar appears not to have been consistent. Notable external features of this handsome Georgian building include the door case, with pediment and pilasters, the dormers set behind a parapet, and the wisteria. The bar is light, and simply-furnished; it offers snacks every lunchtime, meals on Thursday to Saturday lunchtimes, quiz or music nights on Friday, and bingo on Sunday evening. Accommodation is available in three en-suite rooms.

Entrance to the club is at the back, there's an alley on the right side or approach via St Thomas Park (a road name, not a park).

As of October 2023 the building is up for sale so it seems likely that the club has closed - we are waiting for confirmation. Please use 'Submit updates' if you can confirm closure or not or have any other news.
