MAY 2023 - Closed as a pub but still operating as a hotel. No planning applications visible.

Single roomed locals' bar in a small 19th century hotel. The open plan room has exposed brickwork and brick effect wall paper along with wooden beams on the ceiling and a tartan carpet. Full meals are served April to October with a children's menu provided. There's a separate restaurant for those who prefer quieter dining, but many dine in the bar. There is free music via Alexa, which is popular with the locals. Conveniently located for the Hirsel Estate and Country Park. The town hosts a civic week in August that includes a torchlight procession and riding the bounds to Flodden Field.

NOTE: May close earlier Monday and Tuesday.
