Templehall started life as part of the Temple Dairy back in 1812 and from March 2025 is a community-owned village hotel run by enthusiastic tenants. As it is located on the St Cuthbert's Way and close to other paths it is popular with walkers.
On the upper level, accessed from the main road entrance, is the Kale lounge bar, which doubles as a dining room and cafe. This is a large open plan room which overlooks the attractive split level garden. It is furnished with a mix of dining tables and comfy chairs and has a real fire at one end and the bar at the other.
On the lower level is a small snug bar which is due to open July 2025.
NOTE: Some details may change as the new tenants and community owners settle in to running the pub.
