A rock music oriented pub, with DJs most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and occasional live bands. The pub is popular with the younger generation. Note that when the pub is open until 2am, last entry is at 1am.

Historic Interest

Grade II listing:- Said to have been rebuilt in 1835 (auction sale note of 1870), although it contains indications of earlier structure. Two and a half storeys. Stock brick. Slated mansard roof. Two dormers, moulded stuccoed cornice and blocking-course. First floor of painted brick with two 3-light sashes with glazing bars. Ground floor has public house front with pilasters, fascia and cornice. The ship's figurehead that was formerly located between the first floor windows was removed some years ago.
