This Pub is Permanently Closed

A large pub dating from 1898. The pub name and the date are picked out in ornate tilework on the gables above the frontage.

The exact date of closure is uncertain. Local newspapers report it as 2010 although images from Street View show it as closed and boarded in 2008. Reports in 2018 suggest the building will be converted into retail with flats above, but fortunately retaining the decorative facade.
