A modern pub built in the late 1980s by Banks's with a single bar serving a large room. Close to historic Spon Street and the city centre, it is well placed to enjoy the UK City of Culture 2021 and is popular with shoppers and workers giving it a mix of clientele. Recently refurbished, the pub is bright and welcoming inside - the illuminated clock in the alcove a feature. There is live music on Saturday evenings and a large screen used occasionally for big sporting events. Real ale is supplemented by up to four ciders.
