Unit inside Crewe Market Hall (Indoor Market).
Outlet inside the Crewe, Market Hall. Four real ales, two normally from Merlin Brewery (Arclid) and two changing guest ales. Also fourteen keg craft beer lines. Real Ale is discounted on Wednesdays. Other Salty Dog outlets are in Delamere Street, Winsford, and the Salty Dog, High Street, in Northwich. There is seating in the centre of the hall, and several food outlets and one or two shops in the other units on each side. Various activities take place with a communal quiz night on a Thursday and occasional live music.
Historic Interest
Formerly a cheese market, subsequently used as a general market hall. Completed in 1854 by Charles Meason, architect, Red and yellow bricks, stone dressing and metal and glass north light roof. Internally modified with recent careful refurbishment, (2021). External features have been preserved. Above this is a clock tower (1871) topped by a slate mansard roof with iron cresting.
