This Pub is Permanently Closed

Standard town-edge Beefeater with Premier Inn and restaurant attached. Roadside tables. The multi-level L-shaped bar has some attractive brickwork and wood panelling, giving it a certain ersatz charm. Large screen TV normally shows a news channel. Food is what you'd expect with several offers available and is available all day including breakfast. Sharp's Doom Bar is their only ale. Wide selection of well known keg beers.

The Traveller's Rest closed 04/07/2024. Despite evidence to contrary the planning authority accepted that it hadn't been a pub but only a restaurant for many years. It is assumed that the plans to convert it to additional hotel rooms will now go ahead.
