Historic Interest

The Pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Greenall Whitley Bitter and both light and dark Mild (E), with darts. A good example of bad modernisation. In May 1981 this was a Greenall Whitley pub serving cask mild and bitter (E). In the summer 0f 1987 there were uncertainties about the future of the pub and by late 1987 there were rumours about the pub being sold to either Tetley or Burtonwood. It was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Greenall Whitley Mild and Bitter (Electrick Handpump).
