Dating back to the early 1800s the building was originally a public house called the Garth's Arms. It changed names a number of times over the next 200 years from the Duke of Windsor to Maguire’s Tavern, Gaston's and Maguire's before spending a period of time as a night club, before operating as Baker Street. It was also once the home of the Little Avenham Brewery.
Opening in summer 2026 it is now Y2K, a late-night bar and music venue dedicated to 1990s and 2000s throwback anthems, classic pop/dance hits, and nostalgic party vibes. Features resident and guest DJs, live music events, a jukebox, and pool tables with free entry with no cover charge on the door. No cask ale is sold.
