Located near Glamorgan County Cricket ground, this large free house and microbrewery forms part of the Brewhouse and Kitchen chain but reverted to its former name, Y Mochyn Du (meaning The Black Pig) following a refurbishment in September 2026. It has been a pub since the 1980s but originally was a lodge at the western entrance to the Marquis of Bute's Cardiff Castle estate. four real ales, brewed on site, are always available. The conservatory provides a smart and comfortable place to enjoy the menu of freshly cooked Welsh food, while large decked areas outside offer pleasant surroundings in better weather, with the "Beach Huts" being the novelty factor.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 4 regular beers.
