Originally Backbarrow Dolly Blue works, this hotel/timeshare complex has two bars, both open to public. The Dolly Blue Bar, leading to the beer garden/patio which overlooks the River Leven, is dog-friendly. Snacks and afternoon teas are served in the Lounge Bar.

The hotel is only a short stroll from the Lakeland Motor Museum and is close to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (a Heritage Railway, which connects to Windermere Lake Cruises).
