Town centre hotel (listed Category B) with a deceptively extensive interior. The bar is a welcoming and comfortable room for locals as well as visitors, with a very friendly and lively clientele. There is a separate dining room, and a function room upstairs for special events. The adjoining Cygnet room is popular with the younger clientele for pool and sports TV. There are 14 letting rooms, and a good menu serving great value meals. Breakfasts and Pensioner’s Lunches on Thursday are especially popular. Beers are usually from Scottish independent breweries. Children are welcome until 9pm if eating, with menu provided. NOTE: The premises open at 0900 principally for serving breakfasts which they do for non residents until 11am, but alcoholic drinks are only served from 11am.
