Family friendly pub on the A6 towards the easterly end of the village. Although
the exterior is now painted the building was one of the first brick-built properties
in the village giving the name to the adjacent Redhouse Lane. Paul and Paula
Johnson took over the running of the White Lion in August 2026 making an
instant impact with their warm personalities and professionalism.
The pub’s interior is now split into four distinct drinking areas, three of which
have the benefit of working fireplaces to keep them cosy on colder Winter days.
All four areas open onto a single long bar with three handpumps serving one
regular beer and up to two rotating guest beers. There are plans to introduce food
in the future, and outdoor drinking is catered for on the front patio..
Short walk uphill from Peak Forest Canal (bridge 26).
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
Changing beers typically include: Timothy Taylor - Blonde , Wainwright - Gold
