Large pub in a village on the way to the Shropshire Hills from Shrewsbury.
Within, it is mostly open plan, the front part having beams with a more modern extension to the rear. Food ingredients are locally souced as far as possible, a map in the bar shows the location of their suppliers. The brewer of the house beer is kept secret. There are tables outside the front and a garden and car park to the rear. Disabled access is via the carpark. In addition to they hours shown, it also opens bank holiday Monday evenings (phone to confirm hours).
Historic Interest
An unusual feature is the verandah by the front door. Although not part of the original built pub, it was built apparently by a local carpenter about 100 years ago.
