Independently owned and run Grade II listed pub dating from 1625. Friendly and welcoming, and very much at the heart of the village. The guest beer is quite often from a smaller west country brewer.
It was once the village blacksmith and is a warren of small rooms with stone walls and low beams. During WW2 It was used by American GI's from local bases as a dance hall.
It once had its own brewery, the Ash Vine, out at the back. It moved, around 25 years, or so, ago, up to Frome but closed in 2000.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 1 regular beer.
