A pub has been on the site, next to the level crossing, since at least 1700; the current building dates from 1958 and was named Bodhran Barneys from 1996 to 2000.
Latterly it often closed Friday and Saturday evenings for private bookings; the modern interior felt more like a cocktail bar than a community pub.
