Admiral Taverns was selling the freehold of the Waldegrave Arms. A group of volunteers explored how to buy the pub. They registered the East Harptree Community Benefit Society Limited. They also explored opportunities to use the building and grounds to provide additional benefit for the community. The pub was registered as an ACV. They were awarded a grant of £250,000 capital funding from the Community Ownership Fund. The purchase of the pub was completed on Friday 24th May 2024. They have over 324 paid up shareholders. They are now refurbishing the pub. A tenant has been appointed. The hope to reopen during the first quarter of 2025.
