Dating from the early seventeenth century this is a cosy, friendly and attractive pub at the bottom of the hill about half a mile from the town centre. Close to the Ludlow Brewery the entrance is through an arch which leads to the scenic outdoor drinking area adjacent to the River Corve. The pub offers free biscuits to dogs and free wi-fi. Low beams, hanging hops, bare board flooring and a large open fire give the bar a very traditional feel and a cosiness in winter. There is a rear drinking area/restaurant and a downstairs restaurant. Once owned by the Wrekin Brewery of Wellington.
After a short period of being closed the Unicorn has been reopened by Black Country Ales in May 2025 who have tastfully done refurbishment inside & out while still retaining orginal features though out making a welcoming place .Also they have brough back into use two back rooms as extra drinking areas/meeting rooms , the beer garden patio area is now a pleasant place to while away a summers evening. Bar snacks only - Cobs /Pork pies/Scotch eggs etc.
