This Pub is Closed Long Term

Large, imposing, old-fashioned building housing both a snug, locals bar, a slightly more up-market lounge and a quality dining room. The single beer tends to be a national in winter but a more varied range is offered during the tourist season. A bird sanctuary is situated at the mouth of the River Ythan with golf and fishing proving big attractions.

Closed 2015 with plans to convert to flats but eventually sold in March 2020 to private owners with connections to Newburgh who said "It is our hope to eventually return this lovely building, which dates back to the 1880’s to being a centrepiece in the village. All this whilst bringing food, drink and hospitality to local people and visitors to the area."
