This Hotel is Permanently Closed
This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
Public bar closed circa 2019; premises no longer licensed.
The public bar (Princes Bar) appears to have been closed around 2019. Consequently the premises are now essentially an unlicensed hotel, part of which is believed to be used to house homeless people. Food is reportedly limited to breakfasts for residents.
This large 3-storey brick-built hotel dates back to the late 1700s, although a posting house (coaching inn) reportedly existed on the site in the 16th-century. It dominates the junction, with entrances off Bridge Street and from the car park (accessed off Wetmore Road).
