The club was originally built as a post officer in 1874. Some of the original fixtures are part of the.

It became a gentlemans club in 1905 and the cons club in 1911. On the ground floor is the bar with armchairs, tables and chairs, two full sized snooker tables and other bar games.

Historic Interest

Originally a post office, the building dates back to the late 1870s when it was built on the site of the 17th-century Parker's Almshouse. The Club was founded in 1911, a few years after the post office moved to New Street in 1905.
