This Pub is Closed Long Term

A recent refurbishment has enhanced and brightened the interior but the basic layout remains as before; a two bar pub consisting of public bar and lounge separated by doors that can be opened when the occasion demands it, such as when there is live entertainment. The public bar has a pool table and darts board which are used by the pub teams for their league matches as well as locals and visitors who turn up for a game or two. The many trophies won by the pub teams are displayed in the public bar. The comfortable lounge bar is mainly used as an eating area and can accommodate around 30 people. There is a small garden which overlooks the village and has a smoking shelter. There is also a car park to the rear. West Berkshire CAMRA Community Pub of the Year 2015 and runner up 2016. 20p pint cask ale discount with CAMRA membership card - introduced 2016. Second cask ale - Arkell's monthly special - added October 2016.
