Note Samuel Smith have a blanket ban on the use of mobile phones and other digital devices in their pubs except for card payments. There is a good choice of typical pub food with vegetarian & vegan options.
Dogs, muddy boots & Hi-Viz jackets only allowed in uncarpeted front rooms.
The architecture of this building is unusual with the pub area separated from its accommodation block by a central archway leading into the car park at the rear, with the front entrance at street level but the rear of the bar a storey above the car park. A pleasant beer garden is situated next to the car park, from which the trains can be heard, but not seen, passing through the adjacent station. Inside, the bar serves four separate drinking rooms, one being a separate public bar, whilst two other partitioned areas provide snug drinking areas. The walls are liberally covered with old photographs and plates, many with a railway theme.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 1 regular beer.
