Controversially renamed from the Red Lion to The Space Invader in honour of Sir Bernard Lovell who was instrumental in the construction of the nearby Jodrell Bank radio telescope.
There are many pictures of the construction of the radio telescope in the pub.
The building dates from the 17th century and the main bar divides naturally into two sections. At the front is a comfortable lounge section leading to a well appointed dining room at the rear which can also be used for private functions. Food is served daily with a different menu on Sundays and there is also 3-course fixed price Senior Social lunch available on weekdays. Menus & table booking are available on the website. There is also a canine menu for our four legged friends.
The house beers are from Weetwood which are supplemented by Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and a guest beer from a local brewery.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 3 regular beers.
