An open plan pub on two levels with a flagstone floor around the bar. There is a smaller room to the right of the entry door. A secluded garden to the rear offers splendid views of the Minster. The inn is of mid to late medieval construction, possibly dating from the mid 15th century with some parts confirmed as dating to 1530. There are interesting ornaments and an array of historical information on display.

Popular with music lovers the Sun Inn regularly has open mic nights on a Tuesday, acoustic bands on Wednesdays, folk sessions on Saturday & Sunday and live acts on weekends. Quiz on Thursday evening.
