New licensees, new ideas, pleasant staff.
With two real ales, and hopefully three in summer, and handy for users of the Coast to Coast footpath, this superbly located family-run pub is a fine stone building built in 1836 situated on Front Street and, as the name implies, it is next to Grosmont Railway Station.
Currently selling Fresh Ale in that the Wainwright may be conditioned at the brewery. This gives the beer a longer shelf life, and ideal for those pubs where the trade can be seasonal.
Both the Northern Rail Middlesbrough to Whitby - the Eskdale line - and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway serving Grosmont to both Pickering and Whitby stop here.
The pub has a bar, dining rooms and an outside patio area.
Good value home cooked meals are served Thursday to Sunday, though this may be extended to 7 day dining during the summer months.
Accommodation.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
