Didn't reopen as a pub after lockdown, but hotel room upstairs were (and maybe still are) available after that. Has a to let sign outside saying that it is under offer.

After a period in the doldrums, the Station Hotel re-opened in October 2017 with new owners and a vibrant new look. Real ale has been re-instated, along with a large range of gins & craft ales (both key keg draught, keg draught, plus a vast range of bottles & cans).

Have a look at the Facebook page for the current offering. The front lounge area has a splendid view of the victorian railway station and the castle. The central bar area is pretty much where it always has been. Originally, the pub spanned the whole building, with a back bar and second entrance on the Chester Street side. However, under the previous owners this was partitioned off to create a food takeaway facility (currently unoccupied). The smoking room in between the bar and the toilets turns out to be an external space right in the heart of the building.
