This Pub is Permanently Closed

Just north of the village centre and opposite Star Bridge, this two bar Charrington's house was entered directly off the narrow pavement on the A23. Former regulars remember a traditional public bar with heavy wrought iron marble topped tables, and a more comfortable saloon. They pub was demolished in the autumn of 1977 as part of a road widening scheme, leaving the area without a pub.
