Large and imposing Premier Inn hotel, originally part of the Earl of Carnarvon's estate (to 1921), but substantially enlarged since then. Bar/restaurant entrance (to right of hotel entrance) leads straight to main bar area with stone flagged floor around bar counter, plus some wood panelling. Very smart lounge, with beamed ceiling, pillars and exposed stonework, to side. The multi-partitioned dining area beyond the main bar, where breakfasts are also available, operates under Whitbread's Table Table brand. Outdoor drinking on terrace which overlooks garden at rear.
