Situated on the eastern edge of Watlington the pub has a distinct continental cafe-bar feel. Very popular with cyclists and also walkers as the Ridgeway crosses Hill Road about 650m south-east of the pub.
The pub was extensively renovated in 2020 and again in late 2023 to open up the top floor which has doubled the inside seating capacity.
Coffee, home-made cakes and savoury snacks are available all day. Pizzas are cooked in the wood-fired oven in the garden in the summer and inside in the winter.
The changing beers are usually from local breweries such as Oxford, Amwell Springs, XT, Loddon, Loose Cannon and Renegade. Alcohol is served from 11am.
From the garden there is a good view of the chalk triangle, called 'White Mark', on Watlington Hill originally cut to look like a spire on the parish church.
