The pub dates back to 1828. The main room is split by a row of brick pillars, with the bar counter to the left, and bench seating and a variety of tables in the larger part, and there is a beer garden to the rear. Events include a quiz on Tuesday, Acoustic Jam night for all abilities on Thursday, and a DJ night on Saturday.

The beers offered consists of five changing cask ales from the likes of Timothy Taylor, Ossett, Abbeydale, Dancing Duck, Weetwood, Little Critters, Triple Point, Full Circle, Shin Digger and Attic, and five craft keg beers from the likes of Deya, Vocation and Siren. A blackboard menu shows cask and cask both on and coming soon.
