Formerly the Gotherington Arms and a pub since 1755 when William Wilks was licensed to keep an ale house. It acquired its unusual name in 1818 when shutters were removed and used as tables to serve food to large race crowds. Major refurbishment during summer 2016 with some new flooring and a bar which serves up to three real ales. A restaurant is located at the rear of the pub. From the car park at the rear of the pub and from the front are ramped accesses for disabled and there are excellent new disabled toilet facilities. There is a large car park, garden and patio area. New management from Sept 2016. Opens at 9am for breakfasts on race meeting days.
Bank Holidays, Sunday hours.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
