This Pub is Permanently Closed
Change of use approved 05/11/25 Broadland Council 2025/2070 Change of use from Public House to a single residential dwelling, addition of a dormer, new rooflight new opening to facilitate the conversion including demolition of existing garage.
The Ship is an ancient listed building, first licensed in 1789, with a bar and separate dining room, a large sun terrace behind the pub plus some seats at the front by the road.
As with other Colchester Inns pubs, the emphasis is on food, but (as at March 2018) they are trying to keep the 'pub feel' in the bar to the left as you enter, with two or three real ales.
Food service times can be found on the website, but please note that for Sunday lunches, and evening bookings before 7.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, a 2 hour stay is assumed.
