Built in 1877, this establishment took the name of a previous pub on the other side of the busy main road. A former Whitbread house, it was purchased by Ossett Brewery in 2005 and since late May 2023 has been privately owned. From the entrance steps a triangular area leads to the bar, which faces a cosy lounge with large brick-arched fireplace. To the left is a comfortable seating area with flagged floor, leading on to an enclosed outside area.
