New Whitbread 'Hogshead Ale House' in former furniture shop premises opened in 1996. A total of 11 handpumps and 4 more beers direct from the cask. Decorated in typical style with the usual ingredients - exposed brick walls or wood panelling, polished wooden floor, mock fireplace, bric-a-brac etc.

Became Shades, an independent bar c.2004 later becoming a Brazilian Restaurant.
